Obviously this will be increased if you eat foods that are odorous themselves, such as onions, garlic, peppers of any variety, fish, or anything spicy. When considering how to get rid of bad breath remember that for foods such as these it usually just requires a quick brush and rinse to get those odors out of your mouth. However, it’s important to do more than this.
Brushing only gets rid of surface germs and odors; you also need to floss to get food particles out from between the teeth and rinse to clean your entire mouth including your gums and the inside of your cheeks. When learning how to get rid of bad breath after eating remember too that sometimes the odor from food isn’t coming just from your mouth but may actually be originating in the stomach or digestive tract. As the stomach releases acids and other digestive juices in order to break down food, there can be a bad odor as long as the digestive process is active. This means that until the food is entirely digested you can have bad breath.

This means drinking plenty of water during meals so that food can break down and be absorbed into the system quicker and easier. A small bit of fruit or fruit juice can also help the digestive process work easier and can neutralize odors as well. Eating a few sprigs of parsley can also do the trick; don’t throw away this garnish but consider it as part of your meal.
